Andrea Toussaint was born on December 2, 1923 in La Plaine, Haiti to father Previlus Toussaint and Antoinette Antoine. She married Paul Antoine Camille Francois in 1968 and gave birth to 6 children, 4 boys and 2 girls. A philanthropist by nature, she raised all her children with love and compassion, and always thrived for excellence.

She extended her compassion at work where she has helped many people. She worked for many years as a nursing assistant in an outpatient clinic at La Saline where she provided admirable care to the needy and destitute population. She was everyone's mother, providing food and comfort whenever or wherever it was needed. She often sacrificed her own needs and comfort to ensure the happiness of others.

As a mother, she was loving and caring. Her house was a safe heaven not only for her children but also for her children's friends who found a safe, nurturing place to come and play and relax, all the time ensuring there was plenty of food for everyone to enjoy. Of average height and physique, she was very strong mentally. However, in 1990, she was stricken by a vascular disease and migrated to the USA in search of better care. She adjusted quickly in her new environment and gained the admiration and sympathy of many by her innocent smile, pleasant demeanor, open mindedness, compassionate, and easy going nature. Serene at times, but she was always caring.

She attended a senior day care center for 8 years and has won the heart and admiration of everybody. She stopped attending the program after her hip fracture two years ago. Thereafter, she became progressively sicker and unable to walk. Nevertheless, she adjusted easily to the reversal role of being helped instead of helping and was on top of meeting all her medical appointments. As the matriarch of her family, she cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren until her last day. She took great pride in their accomplishments. Andrea lived a full life and will be missed by all of her family and friends. She left behind:
